The African Warriors Fighting Championship (AWFC) has inked a major sponsorship agreement with Stake.com. This collaboration will showcase Stake’s logo prominently at all AWFC events.

While this marks Stake’s initial venture into African sponsorships, they are already a significant presence in combat sports, collaborating with the UFC and even supporting Nigerian-born UFC titleholder Israel Adesanya.

Established in 2019, AWFC is committed to presenting the power and cultural importance of Dambe, a traditional Nigerian boxing discipline, to a worldwide audience.

The arrangement will provide Stake with substantial brand exposure during AWFC events, including prominent display on fighter attire, official apparel, and within the fight venues themselves. Stake will also utilize AWFC’s online platforms to expand its reach, incorporating its brand into Dambe-related material.

Maxwell Kalu, AWFC’s CEO, conveyed his excitement, stating: “Our alliance with Stake is unprecedented and a testament to the growth of African combat sports. It’s a crucial move towards introducing Dambe to the world.”

He further highlighted Dambe’s distinctiveness, saying: “Dambe is a centuries-old sport, steeped in history, fervor, and heritage, unlike any other fighting style globally. This collaboration with Stake is a testament to the progress AWFC has made and the undeniable international allure of Dambe.”

Kalu concluded by welcoming Stake: “We are honored to be Stake’s first associate in Africa and anticipate assisting the brand in connecting with and expanding its audience throughout the continent.”

Akhil Sarin, the acquisition lead for Stake.com, expresses palpable enthusiasm for their latest collaboration. He recognizes significant promise in both the African Warriors Fighting Championship (AWFC) and the broader African combat sports landscape. This agreement comes on the heels of a series of fruitful sponsorships Stake has secured within the fighting realm, suggesting a strategic move to establish a strong presence in Africa.
