The African Warriors Fighting Championship (AWFC) has teamed up with Stake.com in a pioneering sponsorship agreement. This collaboration will showcase Stake’s logo prominently at AWFC competitions, signifying the platform’s initial venture into the African sponsorship landscape. It’s important to mention that Stake is already a significant presence in combat athletics, boasting collaborations with the UFC and Nigerian UFC titleholder, Israel Adesanya.

Established in 2019, the AWFC is dedicated to bringing Dambe, a customary Nigerian boxing discipline, to the international stage. The alliance will see Stake heavily integrated into AWFC events, with branding prominently displayed on competitors, official attire, and throughout the fight locations. This joint effort also extends to the online realm, providing Stake prime exposure across AWFC’s digital channels and incorporating its brand into Dambe-related material.

Maxwell Kalu, Chief Executive Officer of AWFC, conveyed his excitement, stating, “This alliance with Stake is transformative. It’s a substantial landmark for combat athletics in Africa and a major stride in our path to bring Dambe to a worldwide viewership.” He further highlighted the distinctiveness of Dambe, saying, “With its extensive history, unfiltered intensity, and deeply ingrained customs, Dambe is unlike any other combat sport globally. This partnership with Stake is a testament to the remarkable expansion of AWFC and demonstrates that Dambe is making a genuine impact on fight enthusiasts worldwide.”

Kalu concluded, “We are honored to be Stake’s inaugural partner in Africa and anticipate assisting the brand in elevating its visibility and expanding its user base throughout the continent.”

Akhil Sarin, the Chief Acquisition Officer for Stake.com, expresses palpable enthusiasm for their latest collaboration. He identifies significant promise within the African combat sports landscape, labeling AWFC (short for the African Wrestling Federation Championship) an emerging force with lofty aspirations. This agreement represents a crucial element of Stake’s strategy to establish a meaningful presence in Africa, expanding upon their already well-regarded history of backing combat sports globally.
