The Australian media watchdog, known as the ACMA, is taking strong action against unlawful international wagering and partner marketing platforms. They have instructed Internet providers to enhance their efforts and restrict access to these suspicious websites.

The ACMA has been conducting inquiries and has uncovered numerous websites operating in violation of the 2001 Interactive Gambling Act. Among the websites publicly identified by the ACMA are Casino Moons, Winnerama, Extra Vegas, and Win Paradise. Essentially, they have ordered ISPs to shut these sites down.

Since 2017, when the ACMA first began seriously addressing this issue, over 170 questionable gambling websites have ceased operations in Australia. Furthermore, since 2019, ISPs have blocked a staggering 568 illegal gambling and affiliate marketing websites at the ACMA’s behest.

The ACMA is also eager to emphasize the dangers associated with utilizing these illicit gambling platforms. They strongly advise individuals to adhere to legitimate options and exclusively engage with licensed platforms, which can be found on the ACMA’s official registry.

In a recent development, the ACMA issued a formal caution to a provider known as Proxous Advanced Solutions, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to tackling this issue.

Australias media regulator has formally cautioned software developer Proxous, claiming the business intentionally furnished its live gaming platform to 13 illicit internet casinos focusing on Australian players.

This represents the initial instance of the ACMA pursuing an organization for “providing software utilized for prohibited wagering activities.”
