Codere, a Spanish, Italian, and Latin American gaming firm, has inked a four-year sponsorship agreement with River Plate, designating them as the official wagering partner of the Argentinian soccer club.
The arrangement commences in August and will extend until the 2024/25 season. Codere’s emblem will be prominently featured on the team’s jersey sleeves.
This collaboration follows a similar accord Codere established with Monterrey Rayados in Mexico earlier this month.
Carlos Sabanza, Codere’s Sponsorship Director, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the deal, asserting that it enables them to engage with the Argentinian and Latin American audience in a potent and direct manner. He believes this partnership will enhance their brand experience for existing and prospective patrons.
Sabanza also highlighted the significance of collaborating with one of Argentina’s most celebrated soccer teams, as it reinforces their standing as a leading online sports wagering and omnichannel entertainment provider in the region.
Codere recently segregated its online operations and listed it on the Nasdaq Stock Market in the United States through a SPAC transaction. The company anticipates that this sponsorship arrangement with River Plate will solidify their presence in Argentina.
Jorge Brito, the second-in-command at River Plate, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s fantastic to have Codere on board as a sponsor. They possess extensive experience, enjoy global recognition, and are rapidly expanding in this domain. This collaboration will empower us both to continue our upward trajectory. Codere encountered financial challenges during the COVID-19 outbreak. They were compelled to negotiate a settlement with their lenders, who now oversee the company’s activities.
