## Confidential Files Surface on the Hidden Web – Legal & Regulatory – iGB

Australia’s leading gambling enterprise, Crown Resorts, has announced that a limited number of internal papers have been made available to the public on the dark web.

**Crown Files Released on the Dark Web**

GoAnyware, a widely used file transfer platform managed by software developer Fortra, was allegedly compromised by a “zero-day remote code injection vulnerability” on February 2nd. This resulted in a temporary service outage, enabling unauthorized individuals to access information from numerous companies, including Crown Resorts.

On March 27th, the Blackstone-owned casino operator declared they had been contacted by a cybercrime syndicate claiming to possess a significant quantity of Crown documents. The company stated they would give top priority to examining the validity of this assertion.

“We can confirm that no customer information has been compromised and our business operations have not been impacted,” said a Crown Resorts representative. “We are continuing to collaborate with law enforcement and have informed our gambling regulators as part of an ongoing inquiry and will provide updates as needed.”

**Data Security Incident**

On Wednesday, the fifth of April, Crown affirmed that some documents had been disseminated on the hidden web. These documents encompassed employee work schedules and membership identifiers for Crown Sydney. The corporation stated that customer data was not impacted by the disclosure.

The leaked documents did not incorporate bank names, tax file numbers, or any monetary information. The company also asserted that membership identifiers were merely numerals and did not comprise any personal details.

“We are informing everyone who was affected and, as a precaution, we are modifying membership identifiers for those individuals,” a representative stated. “Crown will persist in collaborating with law enforcement and the government to address this digital crime.”
